Memory Care at The Lutheran Home is a self-contained unit that provides specialized care to those who have memory loss, including those with dementia, cognitive impairment, mild behavioral issues or Alzheimer's
The design of the Memory Care promotes safety and independence. Our primary goal is to form a community among the staff, residents and the residents' families.
We make every effort to recreate props and surroundings to help your loved one connect with their past memories.
Your loved one will find peace and comfort in our outdoor sitting area, created to help bring calm and a touch of good times past. It is directly adjacent to our memory wall area, where different sites and scenes from around the area are in place to spark the memory and hopefully bring back warm feelings of their past.
Admittance to and from Memory Care requires use of a keypad, helping to prevent residents from wandering from Memory Care.
The unit features a dining room, outdoor patio and activity hall. The covered patio has comfortable lawn furniture and is surrounded by an enclosed courtyard where residents can enjoy fresh air, shade and relaxation.

We use a memory wall to show photos of the some of the local attractions, including local and even some surrounding locations. This is an effort for any detail that might help your loved one remember events from the past, especially fun times and fond memories. Below are just a few of the photos we feature.
